Kendalwood Summer Program 2010

Camp Kendalwood promises a fun-filled summer full of activities and fun for all children. Registration for our camp is as flexible as your needs demand. Join us for a month, a week or a 3 day program. With our large outdoor area and our air-conditioned school facility, we know that this program will be just right for you! We start off each day with an academic period where your child will be exposed to concepts related to the weekly theme. There will be many opportunities for the children to be outside playing games and sports every day of the summer.

Our camp groups accommodate children aged 18 months – 12 years. Activities will be geared to your child's age grouping. Our camp staff are all experienced child care professionals. There will be no hot lunch program offered during camp.

Download registration form here.

Program Schedule

Camp 1 | July 5 – 16 | From the Dawn of Time to Infinity and Beyond
Come and join us on a voyage of a life time. Our expedition takes our “dino-MITES” to the dawn of time as we travel through time to investigate prehistoric beasts of the past.  Our final destination is space. We explore the science of what it takes to build a rocket or to survive on the moon. “One small step for child one giant leap for ALL”.

Camp 2 | July 19 – 30 | Jungle Journey
Your child will learn about animals, their habitats and their movements through interactive games and art. From the terrain of the forest floor to the tip of the tallest tree, come prepared to seek and learn the creepy crawly secrets of bugs, bees and butterflies. No bug spray required!

Camp 3 | Aug 3 – 13 | Science Extravaganza
“I am not sure how clouds get formed. But the clouds know how to do it, and that is the important thing”.

Through exciting experiments and hands-on projects “budding scientists” and curious young minds will become active participants engaged in the scientific world. Delve into dynamic experimentation to find out the “science” behind “bending light”, “barometer in a bottle”, or “eggs-periment”, just to name a few.  Don’t be “Nerve-ous”, if Bill Nye the science guy can do it, so can we!

Camp 4 | Aug 16 – 27 | Passport to the World
Set sail for a ten day journey around the world! Biodiversity is the key to life on this planet and for this adventure. We will tour the continents and take a close look at a variety of eco-systems and their resident furry, slimy and feathered creatures. Campers will explore the wild; the savannah of Africa, dive into the waters of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, trek the Gobi desert of Asia, hike the woodlands of North America and fly through the canopy of the Amazon rainforest in South America. Don’t forget to pack winter coats for a visit to the frozen tundra of Antarctica! No compass required!
